Mario Bellini designed the "Cab" armchair in 1976 utilizing a skeletal steel frame that was enameled and covered with leather upholstery that features saddle stitching which epitomized the high-end Italian leatherwork of the 1970s. Mario Bellini also designed this version of the "Cab" chair in the form of an armchair utilizing the same removable Italian hide leather covering, further reinforcing his desire to showcase the Italian skill in leatherwork.
