Designed for Frederick Robie of Chicago in 1908, these highback Robie chairs were placed in the an open living area which contained the dining room. The highback Robie chairs created a feeling of closeness to diners sitting at the table.
The Robie House is considered to be one of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces. Many other aspects of the house exhibit Lloyd's desire to create harmony between the structure and nature. Interiors from the roof and fireplace to kitchen and bedrooms exhibit this concept.
This Robie Chair is a high quality modern classic reproduction manufactured by master craftsmen in Italy. A great amount of detail has gone into the fit and finish of this chair. Don't be fooled by cheap Chinese classics that miss the important design cues, and are not manufactured to last.
