This Frank Lloyd Wright Roberts Chair was designed for the residence of Isabel Roberts in 1908. Isabel Roberts was Frank Lloyd Wright's office manaer. Its original construction was with stained poplar wood. The Roberts Chair represents one of several highback chairs that Frank Lloyd Wright designed. To Wright, the use of the chairs brought a certain intimacy at the dining table. There is a great deal of vertical and geometric emphasis seen in the chairs similar to those being designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in the same period.
Though the house was designed in 1908, Frank Lloyd Wright returned in 1959 to renovate and re-design the house. The late-Prairie style used on the home is considered to be one Frank Lloyd's finest designs.
